FRIENDS OF RODMARTON PRIMARY SCHOOL
WHO ARE ‘THE FRIENDS’?
All parents and carers with children at Rodmarton are automatically Friends who can volunteer to help with school events throughout the year. As a registered charity, the Friends’ aim is to raise much-needed money for the school and help organise events. It’s also a great way to meet other parents and become familiar with the school.
The Friends Committee holds regular meetings to discuss upcoming events and fundraising ideas. Everyone is welcome, so please join us if you can. (You should receive an email prior to a meeting to let you know where it will be held.)
COMMITTEE MEMBERS 2016
Chair: Philly Herbert (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Treasurer: Nicola Hewitt (email@example.com)
Secretary: Kitty Brown (Kathryn@trafficworks.co.uk)
WHAT DO THE FRIENDS DO?
Friends can help at events such as cake sales, tombolas and discos, as well as the annual Rodmarton’s Got Talent competition, summer fete and camp night. If you’d like to volunteer, please let a member of the committee know – your time and effort will be very much appreciated!
And the committee is always trying to think of fun (and tasty!) ideas for events – from skittles and chilli nights for parents and staff to spooky Halloween discos for the children. So, if you have any fab ideas, please email or grab one of us in the playground.
We are also keen to have more committee members and would love to have you on board! Please get in touch if you are interested.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
All money that we raise goes directly back to the children through our contributions towards extra resources, essential repairs to playground equipment and school trips etc. We recently funded the school’s Mathletics licence as well as the Early Years’ coach journey to the Cotswold Farm Park. We are currently liaising with Mrs Musty and the teachers to find out what our next fundraising priorities are.
Remember, fundraising for our much-loved school makes a huge difference to all our children and we would really appreciate your help in 2017.
Thank you for your continued support.
