Our classes are organised as follows:

The Reception children follow the Foundation Stage curriculum focusing on the Early Learning Goals leading towards the National Curriculum, which is taught to Years 1 to 6.

Children are currently taught in 3 classes. The arrangement of classes may vary from year to year according to the number of children in each year group.

The class structure for the academic year 2014/2015 will be as follows:

Class 1 – Reception & Year 1
Class 2 – Years 2 & 3
Class 3 – Years 4, 5 & 6

Detailed planning is undertaken by the individual class teacher and by teachers working together to ensure continuity and progression through the classes.

A Learning Support Mentor is provided for Class 1 children providing extra support for the youngest children in the school. LSM support is also given for Class 2 and Class 3.

Our Special Needs co-ordinator supports each class, providing more specialist guidance and support when needed.

Parents are always most welcome to come into classes to help on a regular basis or to provide assistance with a specific activity. Please enquire at the office if you would like to help out and we will give you the necessary form for completion which has to be sent away for clearance.
